Mindless Sewing :-)

I was in the mood to sew over the Easter Weekend

so I used up some strips that were lying around and made this

I now have a cushion for my sewing chair ;-)
I have submitted it to Pillow Party

I received the last of the D4P blocks from Block Lotto during the week and have finally been able to take a photo of the design wall.

There is a lovely 'light & dark' pattern emerging and I think I will have a play with layout before stitching.

I also received this lovely block from Sharon, for the Christmas Block Swap.

I love the fabrics you have chosen, Sharon, they are so me  ;-)

I have also made up some more purses for my ETSY store - specially with Mother's Day in mind.

More BlockLotto D4P Blocks

more D4Ps have been arriving, but I haven't taken photos of the design wall, as it has been a bit dark and gloomy here.  It is actually raining at the moment - hopefully, it will clear up and be sunny again tomorrow ready for our 5 day Easter Weekend/Anzac Day Break.

This arrived the other day from, Laurina.  I was so impressed with the way they were presented, I just had to take a photo ;-)

Thanks to Balinda, Julie, June, Laurina, Pokey & Sophie for the blocks received during this last week.  By my calculations, that's everyone's block received.

There is not one duplicated RED - given the vast range of people and places these blocks came from, I think that is amazing ;-)

I am hoping for some nice weather this weekend so that I can get a good photo of the design wall - it looks absolutely wonderful!

Wedding Free Zone - 29 April 2011

At the risk of alienating some of my followers, I am declaring our household a wedding free zone on Friday, 29 April 2011

I blame the constant media for this. 

I enjoyed watching Charles & Diana's wedding - I even stayed home with Mum and made a night of it ;-) and I was looking forward to William & Kate's wedding ............ until I was bombarded with it almost every time I turned on the TV or radio.

Channel 9 (in Australia) I knew you had lost the plot when you started messing with our regular shows - moving them without notice, playing episodes out of order, taking them off mid-season, bringing them back without notification, but you have really done it now!

FNSI - 15 April 2011

It was FNSI again - I am so glad these happen on a regular basis - it gives me opportunity to catch up on my swaps.

A successful FNSI needs a bit of preparation and some essential supplies.

Block Swaps & More D4P - It's like Christmas again ;-)

I have not been able to spend as much time sewing as I would have liked this last few weeks - I have returned to the workforce by doing some typing from home ;-)

My husband was home sick Monday and Tuesday and he went outside to get some fresh air and bring in the mail and found all these in the letterbox ;-)

It's Finished!!

The Black & White & Red quilt for our bedroom is finished.

I used my new quilting foot and quilted around the dark 'crosses' yesterday, and this morning (with my extra hour) I put the binding on. 

I went back to my first choice of black binding.
